Bonaire, Caribbean

by Justin and Tracy from A Couple for the Road

Bonaire Cabana at sunset facing restaurant B

Bonaire is one of the most beautiful places in the Caribbean that you’ve never heard of, and an ideal location for a honeymoon.

A part of the ABC Islands in the South Caribbean, along with Aruba and Curacao, Bonaire is a burgeoning bucket-list destination, that was recently still a legal part of the Netherlands. This small, remote oasis is known for beautiful beaches, crystal-clear waters, flamingos, and some of the best diving in the world!

There are ideal luxury resorts to stay on Bonaire’s west coast, which faces a stunning sunset, near Bonaire’s capital city of Kralendijk. Among these are beach cabanas, dreamy hotel rooms, and beach-side get-a-ways that don’t cost an arm and a leg – yet!

As Bonaire continues to impress travelers, more and more people are finding out about it. This year, in fact, Miami and Atlanta opened direct flights to the tiny island, joining Amsterdam as the only non-Caribbean destinations that fly directly into Bonaire. The secret won’t stay hidden long, however, so make sure to enjoy your honeymoon in Bonaire as soon as possible!

This is also the best place in Costa Rica to spot sloths in the wild! Cascade Mountains of Washington, Mountain Home Lodge

By Christa Rolls  from Expedition Wildlife

View from the deck of Mountain Home Lodge, Washington

Looking for a luxury-rustic mountain getaway with your significant other? Mountain Home Lodge in the stunning Cascade Mountains of Washington State is the perfect destination for those who love great food and service coupled with spending time in nature. The Lodge is secluded, as it sits 1,000 feet above the Bavarian-inspired village of Leavenworth, and looks out to the surrounding mountains, so the views from your private cabin or guest room are out-of-this-world. Everything is all-inclusive, so you don’t have to worry about the extras: the chefs prepare delicious meals for visitors throughout the day (including a complimentary appetizer and glass of wine before dinner), winter sports gear is complimentary for guest use, a pool is available in the summertime and a steaming hot tub is open in winter, and tons of trails to explore are right just outside the door.

The surrounding meadows and forests are perfect for those who love bird watching, and deer and elk can often be seen roaming the nearby pastures. Rarer are black bears, which are usually found down in the valley, but some can be seen munching on fallen fruit at Mountain Home’s orchard. The regionally famous Alpine Lakes Wilderness, otherwise known as the Enchantments, is also nearby, and a day hike to Eight-Mile or Colchuck Lake will exemplify how the area got its name. Keep a lookout for mountain goats along the way!

Any time of year is a good time to be at Mountain Home, as summer yields sunny and mild days perfect for hiking, autumn sees cool days and stunning fall colors, and the winter snow allows the perfect opportunity to ski, sled, or snowshoe. Christmastime is especially magical at the Lodge, as twinkle lights are hung outside, and fire constantly burns in the large hearth. This is also when Leavenworth hosts its Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, where Gluhwein stands to hand out piping hot mugs of mulled wine, twinkle lights cover every building in town, and local artist shops line narrow, snowy streets. Don’t miss overindulging in the beautiful scenery, eating incredible food, and experiencing the serenity of Mountain Home Lodge!

The Montage, Deer Valley Utah, United States

by Sherrie from  Travel By A Sherrie Affair

The Montage located in Deer Valley Utah

The Montage located in Deer Valley Utah is one of the most luxurious and welcoming resorts in the United States.  Part of the other famous Montage resorts, it is perfect for a romantic honeymoon in warm or cold weather.  When you enter Park City you continue up to Deer Valley.  The elevation at the Montage is at 8,300 feet so you do need to stay very hydrated throughout your stay.  The outside grounds include expansive land with fire pits, rockers and a pool with lounges.  Perfect areas outside for relaxing and meditation too.  The honeymooners will enjoy sunning at the pool during the day and at night roasting marsh mellows on an open fire pit.

The hotel interior is impressive, especially the humongous gathering room with a very over-sized fireplace, comfy leather chairs, and couches.  There are other rooms off this main area with pool tables, library, and more sitting areas.  Drinks and small plates are served here as you relax from a day hiking, skiing or exploring Park City.  Romantic restaurants are located right in the hotel.

The Spa is one of the largest spa’s you will ever experience at 35,000 square feet!  Indulge yourselves for your honeymoon! Couples massages, water treatments, facials, body treatments and every other kind of treatment you can imagine.  Honeymooners will find their own paradise at the Montage Deer Valley and will not want to return home!

Half Moon Bay Resort, Montego Bay, Jamaica

by Amber Hoffman from With Husband in Tow

Half Moon Bay Resort Jamaica

One of the most luxurious and romantic places in Jamaica has to be the Half Moon Bay Resort in Montego Bay. We spent our honeymoon in Jamaica 17 years ago, at a hotel that was not nearly as romantic as Half Moon Bay. There is so much history to the resort. From the start in the early 1950’s Half Moon’s bungalows have houses Kennedys, Bushes, and Windsors. Not only do their suites offer private or semi-private pools, but some of the private patios just steps away from the water.

You can even stay in a suite where the Queen has stayed. That is certainly the royal treatment. Their spa offers romantic couples massages and the Sugar Mill Restaurant prepares contemporary versions of traditional Jamaican in a romantic old-colonial style terraced restaurant. Best of all, the Half Moon Bay Resort offers full board and all-inclusive options so honeymooners can forget everything and just relax on the stunning Half Moon Bay.

Book now at Half Moon Bay Resort and get the best prices starting at $308 per night.

Antigua & Barbuda, Caribbean Antilles

By Isabella from Boundless Roads

Antigua & Barbuda are sister islands in the Caribbean Lesser Antilles and proud themselves to have count 365 beaches overall, one for each day of the year. I haven’t seen them all while I was living there, but I can tell you that on a 2 weeks’ vacation you will have just enough time to visit the best ones.

Antigua is also home of amazing luxury resorts for dream vacations and unforgettable honeymoons. My favorite two hotels are Jumby Bay and Hermitage Bay.

Jumby bay occupies an entire island at a 10 minutes boat from Antigua. A stunning property made of private luxury villas which are also available for rent, and spectacular suites, scattered around a manicured garden. The elegant main area is situated just behind one of the stunning beaches, where watersports are available and also two of the restaurants are located. Needless to say, the cuisine is top-notch as well. The spa is located further away from everything else so as to guarantee peace and tranquility during the rejuvenating treatments. You will be provided with bicycles to move around the properties but also golf cart transportation is available.

Hermitage Bay is probably my top favorite. The majority of the luxury private rooms are nestled on a lush hill overlooking a turquoise bay with sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea. You will never want to get out of your suite, and the plunge pool.  If you’d rather stay close to the water, don’t worry, they have got you covered as well, as their beachfront suites are superb and right on the sand. The service is absolutely outstanding and the spa is one of their highlights as it focuses on holistic treatments with the finest products. The restaurant is one of the best in Antigua and its diverse international menu includes also light choices for the health-conscious travelers.  The property is All-inclusive.

Book now at Hermitage Bay and get the best prices starting at $1470 per night.

EUROPE BEST LUXURY HONEYMOON DESTINATIONS

Sardinia, Italy

by Claudia Tavani from My Adventures Across The World

Costa Rei Sardinia honeymoon destination

Sardinia is an incredible honeymoon destination. Packed with gorgeous beaches (there is no going wrong in Sardinia: whether small rocky coves or long, white sandy beaches, they are all gorgeous and the water is always transparent), the island has a lot more to offer. Among the things to do in Sardinia there is visiting the gorgeous cities and villages – first and foremost the capital Cagliari; but also the beautiful Alghero and Bosa, to name a few; and the unique archaeological sites. If this is not enough, consider exploring the mountains – Gennargentu mountain range has some stunning sights, and if hiking is your thing (though hardly a honeymoon activity) there are trails galore.

As like the rest of Italy, food in Sardinia is delicious so trying the local specialties is a must. And while doing that, make sure to pair it with some delicious Sardinian wines.

Forte Village Resort, located in Santa Margherita di Pula, at about 45 minutes drive from Cagliari, is a fantastic luxury resort that is perfect to relax and spend the honeymoon, and from where it is possible to explore the rest of the island. The resort is gorgeous: located on a stunning beach, with lovely comfortable rooms set in a beautiful lush garden, and a bunch of delicious restaurants – first and foremost the incredible Hell’s Kitchen by Gordon Ramsey.

Book now at Forte Village Resort and get the best prices starting at $1270 per night.

Algarve, Portugal

by James from Portugalist

Algarve Praia Da Bordeira honeymoon destination

Known for its beautiful sandy beaches and laid-back lifestyle, the Algarve in Southern Portugal is the perfect destination for a luxurious honeymoon getaway. Many of the Algarve’s beaches have been voted as some of the best in the world and are ranked alongside beaches in places like Brazil and The Caribbean.

Finding the perfect accommodation for your honeymoon won’t be hard. From independent boutique hotels to five-star beachside resorts, there’s something to suit every style of a honeymoon. Popular resorts include the Conrad Algarve, Anantara Vilamoura, and Martinhal Sagres Beach Resort and Hotel.

The Algarve is also a fantastic destination for foodies. Portuguese food isn’t well known even in Europe, and visiting the Algarve is a fantastic opportunity to explore this fairly undiscovered cuisine.

For those that want to splash out while they’re here, there are plenty of Michelin-star restaurants to choose from. Both Ocean and Vila Joya have two Michelin stars while there are also others, like São Gabriel and Amadeus, that have one but are worth visiting as well.

Seafood lovers are in for a treat as Portuguese cuisine is very fish and seafood focused. Visit a marisqueira (seafood restaurant) and you’ll have the chance to order just about anything that comes from the sea including lobster, crab, tiger prawns, clams, mussels, oysters, and bacalhau or salt-dried cod, Portugal’s national dish.

There’s so much to do that you probably won’t be able to fit it all in – you’ll just have to celebrate your anniversary here as well!

Paris, France

by Elisa from World in Paris

Paris Honeymoon luxury destination

Paris, the City of Light and love, is one of the best places to spend your honeymoon. Looking for a luxury honeymoon in Paris? When it comes to luxury, Paris won’t disappoint. Book a fabulous hotel with Eiffel Tower views and organize the transfer from the airport to the hotel by private car. After you have found your bearings in the city, take a private guided tour for two to get the most out of the city, perhaps with a luxury picnic included.

Do you need to renew your wardrobe or just a nice souvenir from your honeymoon in Paris? The city is the capital of “haute couture” and you will find the best brands (Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton or Saint Laurent) in Paris 8, at the Golden Triangle formed by the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, the Avenue Montaigne, and the Avenue George V. If you prefer a nice jewel, instead, the elegant Place Vendôme in Paris 1 is the place to go.

Probably, after the Paris sightseeing and shopping, you will be hungry and there is no better way to start your soirée than a dinner for two in a Michelin starred restaurant. Finish your day in a rooftop bar or sailing the Seine River with a champagne cup in hand, then you will understand why Paris is always a good idea.

Iceland, Volcano Hotel

by Patrick from Adventographer

iceland honeymoon destination Volcano Hotel

Set your preconceived notions aside for a moment and you’ll understand why Iceland should be on your honeymoon radar!

In my mind, there’s nowhere better for an adventure-loving couple to honeymoon than the land of fire and Ice. Famous more for its unpronounceable names, Bjork and as a location for the popular TV series Game of Thrones, Honeymooning likely isn’t the first thing to come to mind when you think about the island nation of Iceland. From the classy capital of Reykjavik to the roaring waterfalls and snowcapped glaciers, Iceland offers a getaway for every type of Honeymooner.

Be it a posh city experience dotted with luxury day trips, finding (& soaking in) all the hot springs in Iceland or even renting a camper van and road tripping around the famous ring road, intimate experiences for you and your partner are abounding. We recommend the luxury Volcano Hotel near the small town of Vik near Iceland’s major tourist attractions.

Visiting this small volcanic nation is best done in the summer months (June-August) but for those wanting to avoid the crazy crowds of peak season and willing to roll the dice a little on the weather I can recommend visiting in the spring or fall as well.

Ice Hotel, Lappland, Sweden

by Angie from Feet Do Travel

Ice Hotel Wedding

Most brides dream of a white wedding, but we took it one step further and married in the Ice Hotel, Swedish Lappland. A pure white blanket of snow as far as the eye can see, in a new church sculpted every year entirely out of ice.

I will admit it was cold and nothing screams “sexy” for your “something blue” than a pair of thermal socks, but as a wedding and honeymoon destination, we couldn’t think of anything more romantic. Husky sledding across a frozen lake and a scooter trip to view the Northern Lights.

Every year since 1990, the Ice Hotel has been rebuilt out of snow and ice in the small northern Swedish town of Jukkasjärvi, 200km north of the Arctic Circle. World class sculptors create this fantastic art exhibition, and guests can stay in various themed rooms between the months of December and April when the hotel begins to melt away.

How to get to the Ice Hotel: There are daily flights from Stockholm, Sweden to Kiruna. From here you can travel the 17km by car to the Ice Hotel, or arrange a husky sleigh to pull you. The Ice Hotel can arrange your transfer.

Book now at ICE Hotel and get the best prices starting at $170 per night.

Gran Canaria, Spain

by Michelle from Greedy Gourmet

Bohemia Suites & Spa Hotel in Gran Canaria

The Bohemia Suites & Spa Hotel in Gran Canaria is the best hotel for a luxurious destination vacation. The best part is that this premium hotel is for adults only!

You might be wondering why you should visit Gran Canaria in Spain in the first place. Overall, the Canary Islands are just off the shore of Northwestern Africa. In fact, Gran Canaria is just one of Spain’s Canary Islands. The island of Gran Canaria is native to the people of Canary, who came there around 500 BC. Over time, the island was then conquered by the Europeans in the 15th century. You can still taste these cultural influences in the local cuisine. Did you know that Christopher Columbus also spent some time on this island? However, I bet you anything that he didn’t have the opportunity to visit such an amazing hotel.

The best time to visit is during winter because the temperature is just right. In addition to that, the island won’t be as crowded with tourists as one can expect during the summer months. The way you can get to Gran Canaria is to fly there directly, or you can also fly to Tenerife if you find a cheaper connection from your nearby airport. In either case, the travel time is only a couple of hours! If you happen to land in Tenerife, you can take a ferry between islands or take a local flight. Then, just take a shuttle to the hotel or a hire car.

As soon as you step into this hotel, you’ll immediately get a sense of luxury. There are multiple premium rooms with stunning ocean views of the Atlantic. Simply a spectacular experience!

Book now at Bohemia Suites & Spa Hotel and get the best prices starting at $370 per night.

Set in a quiet, tranquil location, The Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel in Tenerife is the perfect place for a luxurious 5* honeymoon break. Positano, Amalfi Coast, Italy

by Katy from Untold Morsels

Positano Amalfi Italy honeymoon destination

If you are dreaming of honeymooning in Italy, the Amalfi Coast is the romantic destination to rule them all. The coastline is famous for its picturesque villages that perch on cliff sides overlooking azure blue seas. Waves crash onto pebbled beaches as the fragrance of lemon groves waft on the breeze.

Of all the Amalfi Coast towns, Positano has been a favorite place for a romantic escape since Roman times. In Positano, you awake to the scene of the sun shining down on the Tyrrhenian Sea. After breakfast, wander the steep cobbled streets down to the beach for a dip in the sea. Then linger over a long seafood lunch. If you can tear yourself away from this beautiful town there are day trips to take to the island of Capri or along the coast. Sunset hour is for lounging on a terrace with an aperitif in hand.

In Positano, there is only one hotel to consider for your honeymoon. Le Sirenuse is simply one of the most charming luxurious hotels in the world. BEST LUXURY HONEYMOON DESTINATIONS IN ASIA

Flower Islands, Palawan, Philippines

by Stefan and Sebastien from Nomadic Boys

Nomadic Boys Flower Island Resort beach Seb

Flower Island Resort is one of our favorite romantic hotels in Asia. It’s located near Palawan island in the Philippines, on its own island called – Flower Island. Here you stay in your own cottage hut, which located right on the beach. They are spacious, beautifully decorated, each with a four poster bed and mosquito net. They have their own private balcony area with a hammock to relax the hours away and take in the glorious sunsets every evening.

The island is surrounded by stunning coral, which is thriving with life. This makes snorkeling and scuba diving a lot of fun. You can easily spend the whole day in the water exploring it all. The water itself is crystal clear and warm throughout the year. It really is a paradise. We saw many turtles and a whole range of tropical fish.

Finally, the island is located near a large pearl farm, which is so fascinating to visit. It’s strictly guarded to defend against pirates, but as a visitor, you’re allowed to visit by appointment and learn more about this extremely fascinating industry.

The best time to visit is during the dry season of the Philippines which runs between November and April. At the time the islands are fully accessible with the best temperatures. Outside of this season temperatures are slightly cooler, but there are more heavy showers. September and October are the months to avoid as this is typhoon season.

Book now at Flower Island Resort and get the best prices starting at $150 per night.

Adaaran Club Rannalhi Resort – The Maldives

by Kylie from Between England and Iowa

Adaaran Club Rannalhi Resort - The Maldives by Kylie from Between England and Iowa

I had my honeymoon at the Adaaran Club Rannalhi Resort in the Maldives, and of course being the Maldives, we treated ourselves to an overwater bungalow!  For us, this was an amazing luxury! We kept the blinds open at the window so we could wake up to views of the ocean, our deck had stairs directly into the water.  We swam with turtles and sharks right from our deck!  Being in a bungalow we could even order breakfast to be delivered so we could eat in private together!  Each evening our bed would be turned down, often having fancy designs made out of the bed sheets.

This resort island is quite small compared to some of the others in the Maldives.   It can be reached by a 45-minute speedboat transfer that meets all flights at Male International Airport.  On arrival to the resort, you are given cold towels and a glass of iced tea…very refreshing after a long travel day!  Other luxuries available, which are perfect for a honeymoon, include couples massage packages at the spa and a 4-course candle lit dinner on the beach (with a private waiter service rather than the free for all buffet).  The WiFi and international phone service were expensive which was nice as it allowed us to really switch off and spend time together without the temptation of spending the whole trip scrolling through Facebook and Instagram!

Book now at Adaaran Club Rannalhi Resort and get the best prices starting at $194 per night.

Koh Yao Yai Village, Thailand

by Andra from Our World to Wander

Thailand Koh Yao Yai Village

When it comes to honeymoon destinations, Thailand is a never-missing star in any list or guide. That’s because it’s one of the most beautiful countries, spoiling its visitors with perfect white beaches, turquoise waters, mesmerizing lush islands. However, due to its fame, it’s also very crowded. As such, for a honeymoon, you have to go for the more secluded islands, like Koh Yao Yai.

Even if the island is located between Phuket and Krabi, it doesn’t get as much attention as them. And it is home to a charming, luxurious resort, the Koh Yao Yai Village. What makes it the perfect honeymoon spot is the fact that it spoils its guests with great services, it’s right on the beach, into a peaceful and quiet surrounding, and it provides tons of great activities. There isn’t a day there to get bored.

There are so many things to do and places to explore that you will never want to leave the area. From island hopping offered in special packages to kayaking and mangrove exploring, there is plenty to do. You just have to relax, unwind, and enjoy the views.

With respect to the best time to visit Koh Yao Yai, if you don’t want the rains to mess with your schedule, then try going from November-December until February. That’s when the amount of showers is lower and the weather is pleasant, with tons of sun to benefit from.

Book now at Ko Yao Yai Village and get the best prices starting at $157 per night.

Koh Libong, Thailand

by Per from Resrutt – The Travel Blog

koh libong Thailand

In the southern parts of Thailand, away from the crowds, you’ll find the small island Koh Libong. The tourism has still barely touched the island and there are only a few on the west coast. The island is ideal for a honeymoon trip, relaxing and island hopping.

People come to Koh Libong for the beautiful wildlife, golden beaches and to relax. For your honeymoon, I’d recommend booking the Andalay Beach Resort. It’s one of the more luxurious hotels on the island and will not disappoint you, the service at the hotel is fantastic!

Aitutaki, Cook Islands

by Clemens from Travellers Archive

Cook Island AitutakiWhat comes to your mind when you think of the paradise destination for a honeymoon? When do you think about a place which is completely far away from home and super secluded? Well, for me it’s Aitutaki, a small islet of the Cook Islands. It’s super far off the rest of the world and truly unbelievable. Located in the East of New Zealand it is home to just a couple of resorts, making it a very quiet and unique place.

The entire lagoon surrounding Aitutaki. is full of turquoise and crystal clear water and small islands that seem to be completely unreal. When spending your honeymoon here, you can spend your day snorkeling among small fish and colorful corals, which will blow your mind. After that? Get into your hammock and enjoy what’s surrounding you: potentially the best beach in the world. Also, there is a tiny island called One Foot Island, which is home to the smallest post office in the world. If you brought your passport, you can get a stamp, which will always remind you of that one day, you entered paradise.

Bora Bora, French Polynesia

by Mar Pages from Oce in a Lifetime Journey

Bora Bora French PolinesyaBora Bora is the ultimate honeymoon destination and the proof is the fact that 90% of the visitors are on their honeymoon, as the Tourism Board confirmed.

Bora Bora is part of French Polynesia and, as such, is, in fact, the farthest French territory, set thousands of miles from mainland France. Because of this, you are in fact entering the European Union and should have an appropriate visa, the same as if you were going to France. The islands are, however, very different from any other part of Europe and have a strong Polynesian culture and history set hundreds of years ago. If you speak French, you will be able to use it there.

For most people, visiting French Polynesia is a dream come true. Because the islands are so hard to reach and located in the middle of the South Pacific, they are an exclusive honeymoon destination. This is also topped by the many dreamy overwater bungalows that fill the motu, the reef surrounding the island of Bora Bora. Here, you can find some of the worlds most luxurious hotel brands, with views and prices to match.

The best way to get to Bora Bora is either via Australia or New Zealand with a stopover in the main island of Papeete where the international airport is. You can also get there via Hawaii from the US.

The Four Seasons, Bora Bora

by Pamela from Travel Like a Chieff

four-seasons-bora-bora

We stayed at the Four Seasons Bora Bora during our honeymoon, and it was fabulous. It is truly one of the best luxury destinations for your honeymoon. There is nowhere more peaceful in the world than Bora Bora. After a hectic few months leading to the wedding, the serenity of French Polynesia was welcome. We joked every day how the scenery was too perfect to be real, and that we were on a movie set with props and green screens surrounding us.

Four Seasons resorts have an outstanding reputation. So when you pair their luxury accommodations and excellent service with paradise, you can’t go wrong. Our overwater bungalow overlooked Mount Otemanu and was surrounded by the idyllic turquoise lagoon. We’d wake up in the morning, step onto our private terrace and jump right into the crystal clear warm water.

There is plenty to do for those who want to stay active. We, and by we I mean my husband, went on a ray and shark snorkel safari while I watched from the boat. If swimming with sharks isn't your thing either, jet skiing around the island is a great way to spend an afternoon. We also enjoyed a romantic dinner on a private white sand Motu where we watched the sunset and a fire dance performance. The spa at the Four Seasons Bora Bora is also worth a visit. Choose from the many treatments and get pampered in the overwater spa suite with beds sitting over glass panels.

The best time to visit French Polynesia is between June and August. We booked the last week of May right after our wedding for eight nights, and it was perfect! There is not much difference in the weather, but the price did increase by 25 percent in the last few days of our stay due to the commencement of the high season. We can’t wait to go back someday, it is a magical place for any occasion but especially a honeymoon.

Book now at Four Seasons Bora Bora and get the best prices starting at $1226 per night.

BEST LUXURY HONEYMOON DESTINATIONS IN AFRICA

Tanzania

by Paul Johnson https://www.aluxurytravelblog.com

Mnemba Tanzania Honeymoon

For our honeymoon, we went to Tanzania. We wanted to do something that was different but still have time to relax and enjoy it, so we combined a safari with a stay on a private island off Zanzibar. We spent a few days at Grumeti River Camp in the Serengeti, followed by stays at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge and Lake Manyara Treecamp, before flying to Zanzibar and getting a boat to the super-luxurious, barefoot paradise of Mnemba Island.

Tanzania is a great country to visit at any time of year but, if you want to be able to see wildlife on safari, you’ll get greater visibility during the dry season (late June to October) when there is less vegetation to obscure your view.

The Great Migration is best seen in June and July but, if it’s the amazing wildebeest calving spectacle that you want to see, then January and February are probably your best months.

Outrigger Mauritius

by Julianna, from The Discoveries Of

Outrigger Mauritius honeymoon destinations luxury

Mauritius is a beautiful honeymoon destination. This lush, tropical island has been blessed with beaches that look like they’re straight out of paradise and clear, warm waters that are perfect for snorkeling and diving.

Best of all, the island boasts an impressive number of five-star hotels. The Outrigger Mauritius is a gorgeous luxury hotel, perched in the Bel Ombre nature reserve on the south coast of the country.

Spacious and elegant, the resort spans over a large area – as a guest, you could very well be in your own private retreat. Although it has over 200 rooms and villas in total, they’re spread out over such a large area and the service is so good that it often feels like you have the place to yourself.

With a number of restaurants, a world-class spa, and a picture-perfect beach, no one could blame you if you spent all your time in the hotel!

The beauty of the Indian Ocean, friendly service, great good, and privacy? Sounds like the perfect honeymoon to me.

The Outrigger is about an hour’s drive from Mauritius’ international airport, and is also well-located for exploring some of South Mauritius’ beautiful sites such as Chamarel Waterfall and The Seven-Coloured Earth.

The best time to go is between October and April, during the island’s summer.

Book now at Outrigger Mauritius and get the best prices starting at $270 per night.

Fregate Island Private, Seychelles

Fregate Island Seychelles Honeymoon

Fregate Island Private in Seychelles is the ultimate luxury honeymoon destination. The entire island is a nature reserve and just one self-sustaining resort occupies a corner of it. But you’ll definitely want to explore Fregate.

Home to a colony of Giant Aldabra Tortoises that rule the island, you won’t want to miss encounters with these 150 year old giants. The white sugar sand beaches are deserted and the water is some of the clearest you’ll find in the world.

From hiking to the highest point for a romantic sunset picnic to scuba diving with sea turtles, there’s no shortage of activities for the adventurous couple.

  1. People today spend so much money on the wedding day and in a short 24 hours and when it’s all over, the best places to enjoy the honeymoon are beach destinations. This is an awesome list of such romantic beaches around the world for your perfect beach honeymoon.

  2. You’ve got a great list here! A lot of great romantic spots to visit for a honeymoon trip. I’m definitely going to have to agree with Tanzania as a choice. Specially with Zanzibar being located there. I think it’s a great honeymoon spot with its amazing beaches. Snorkeling to see the coral reefs is definitely a must! But its a great spot not only for its beaches but also for the cultural and historical sites you can explore while you’re in the area and the fact that it’s close to safari parks. So you can just combine both and enjoy a bush to beach safari adventure!
