My favorite Lightweight Cabin Bag, the ARCIDO FAROE Backpack

by | Aug 1, 2018 | Travel Gear | 0 comments

Since I’ve received my Faroe Backpack as a gift from Arcido, I wanted to wait until making a couple of trips trying it out before writing this review, as my aim is to always give you honest opinions about the products and places I recommend.

I have made local short trips in Germany by train and car, and two international flights having this backpack as my cabin luggage.

In the beginning, I was not so sure I would like it, because it appears to be bigger than my usual carryon backpack, but I was willing to give it a try. I loved the color and the design and the most…it’s light!

Now I can be sure to say this is a great backpack, especially for those wanting to travel light or with one travel bag only.

THE DESIGN

It’s designed as a carryon backpack, fitting in the cabin and even under the plane seat, having perfect size and measures, even for low-cost airlines requirements.

Designed with simple lines and a dark grey color matching any dressing style and taste. The fabric is not only beautiful, is also water resistant!

The interior is way bigger than I expected, it equals a 35lt bag, and you can pack perfectly for a business trip or a short holiday. If you are minimalistic you’ll love having only one backpack fitting all your stuff. There are different pockets and compartments well designed to fit and organize everything:

  • The main space is perfect for clothes and shoes, with interior compression stripes to fix the clothes.
  • A small outside pocket to keep tissues, keys or anything needed to reach quick.
  • One flat division on the back with several pockets inside for documents, cables, and electronics, including a separated and adaptable laptop harness fitting up to a 15.4″. The easy access to this area makes it super easy for security at the airport, that is the most annoying part for every frequent traveler.
  • Hidden passport pocket is the best! On my last trip I put my wallet there and when I got home I thought I have lost it, I was almost freaking out when I saw the secret pocket and my wallet was there!
  • Outside bottle holders on both sides.

My hand backpack is usually near 8kg and the Faroe bag was very comfortable to carry, even being almost full.

On the only negative points I could find, the cushion is very comfortable but it could be a bit softer and it’s not having special measures for woman. My shoulders are not super wide so it’s a usual issue with non-gender-specific backpacks.

The only gadget I’m missing is having extra stripes outside to make it look smaller when it’s not totally full, it will change the clean design for sure but I like to have those to use it in the city as a daily backpack during a trip.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Arcido is a company started in 2015, by two travelers. They create efficient travel gear and they know about this because they live on the road.

Their mission is to make the best gear that keeps us moving efficiently between cities.

Perhaps their success comes from their constantly improving products based on their client’s feedback, so, if you purchase one and you have any suggestions to give, please contact them!

One thing I love about this company is they are not only worried on quality and a great design, they are also worried on working with ethical suppliers in Vietnam, with partners that apply good working practices.
